2025 Mark My Words Call for Artists and Writers

Applications will be accepted between 6/1/2025 through 8/1/2025 for the Mark My Words Exhibition running November 2025-January 2026.

This juried call to artists/writers is an opportunity to exhibit and sell your work in one of the area’s finest art spaces, complete with three art galleries.


Pump House Regional Arts Center Opens New Call to Artists for a Group Exhibition “Mark My Words."

The Process

Poetry jurors will select 15 short poems from submissions received. Art jurors will select 15 artists, also from submissions received. A variety of approaches and genres will be selected, both in poetry and art. Each poet will be sent one of the artworks as determined by the jurors and will have four weeks to create a new poem in response to it.

Poets

Complete the application and Submit two unpublished SHORT poems for consideration. All genres will be considered. Selected poets will receive a photo to respond to by creating a new poem for the exhibition. Deadline for submissions is August 1,2025.

Final Poems will be due October 1st, 2025.

Artists

Complete the application and Submit two images of your work. The jurors will be looking for a variety of media and styles. Deadline for submissions is August 1, 2025.

All Visual Art will need to be delivered for install on Monday, November 3rd, 2025

All 2-D work must be framed and ready to hang with wire of appropriate size and weight. 3-D work must be ready to display.

Timeline 

Exhibited November 2025 - January 2026

June 1st, 25: Call Begins - Runs for two months

August 22, 2025: Announce Visual Artists and Writers

October 1st, 2025: Finished Poems Due

November 3rd, 2025: Display is Installed

November 7, 2025: Opening Reception with slideshow of artwork and the poems read aloud.

January 3rd, 2026: Last day to view exhibition

All Artists and Poets can opt into their work being displayed at the Public Library following the Pump House Gallery.  Selected Visual Artists and Poets will be informed of this additional opportunity and logistics.
